we supply Scotland

We have supplied numerous arena surfaces to customers in Scotland.

Every single customer with the exception of Strathclyde Police Mounted Branch have purchased FLAT STRIP RUBBER due to it's properties protecting the sand from freezing down to minus 13 degrees. Customers within the Scottish areas have always made enquiries primarily for a surface that will offer maximum protection possible against freezing.

Strathclyde police however have an indoor arena therefore the protection against freezing is not an issue.

We have very competitive rates of transport to all areas of Scotland whether delivering in bulk bags or in bulk.

Please see our testimonials regarding the FLAT STRIP RUBBER.

Rubber Equestrian Surfaces and Products

This product is the best rubber surface available, it sits on top of the sand better than other surfaces, and due to its physical shape, it will interlock and not mix in with the sand giving a complete rubber riding surface.

It is very durable and there is no top up requirement, unlike other products that mix in with the sand.

It is an all year round surface and does not freeze until minus 13 degrees. The picture of the outdoor arena on our home page was taken 6 years after it was supplied to a carriage driving and dressage school in Nantwich, Cheshire.

As you can see, the surface is as good today as it was when first supplied, with no top up during this period! We also supply indoor schools who have informed ourselves that the need for watering is reduced by 90 percent and keeps dust down to an absolute minimum. If you are riding too deep then this Flat Strip Rubber product is the answer.

  • Complete riding coverage
  • Excellent durability
  • Keeps dust down
  • All year riding (minus 13 degrees before freezing)
  • Very low maintenance (harrowing)
  • Ideal for carriage riding
  • You can roll the rubber to compact the sand down periodically
  • No top ups required
  • Uniform cut (pleasing to the eye)
  • If building an arena, then the quantity of sand required is less if using strip rubber for the topping

This material is available for a complete supply, to cover an arena or as a topping material over an arena with an existing surface such as Tyre Rubber or PVC Granules. It is a by product from another process and therefore is quite unique, it is more of a smaller elongated shape containing attached fibre.

This product is very bouncy underfoot and has a greater volume to weight ratio than any of the other products, therefore effectively giving you more material for your weight. We have had a fantastic response from customers who have used this product as a topping or as full coverage. Comments we have received are that due to its size shape and fibre content, it is an excellent additive to the existing sand and mixes in to bind the sand together. Again, this will help with arenas experiencing riding through the sand (too deep).

Rubber Fibre Packed in Bulk Bags

Rubber Fibre Packed in Bulk Bags

We have the facility to pack this product into 1 tonne industrial bulk bags so that you have the choice of how you want delivery. The most common choice is by 8 wheeler Bulk Tippers, of which, if you have access, can tip up straight onto your arena. 18 to 20 tonnes can be achieved in an 8 wheeler. We also have 6 wheelers available for tighter access areas and Artics for the larger arenas (i.e. 20 m x 60 m).

We have a Belvoir surface and can recommend it! Not only is it good for the carriage driving it is also more hoof-friendly. Our dressage horse, who is in the arena about 5 sessions per week, used to have really bad feet when we were on ordinary sand & rubber as it was just too abrasive. We installed the Belvoir surface just over a year ago and we have seen a great improvement in his feet so perhaps Belvoir should be using that as a selling point too.

Up until now I have put down three outdoor schools at different sites due to having moved yards etc. I seem to have researched all the surfaces on the market over the last sixteen years since my first school was put down in 1994. In my opinion and through use and experience the combination of silica sand as a base topped with a mix of PVC granules and shredded rubber – Promix has been the perfect answer and has never let me down.

It is a surface which stands up to hard usage. I have had a yard of eight eventers working on it everyday plus my teaching which means that it gets worked pretty hard! I find it gives a true feeling of how a horse works on grass, whether it is dressage or jumping. I have found with some rubber based surfaces that an “ordinary” horse can feel considerable better on the surface and is then disappointing when going back on grass to complete. This is not only unfair to the horse but disheartening when training them.

My surface stands up incredibly well to sudden downpours of rain and therefore has proved itself very free draining. Similarly having just endured the worst British winter for thirty years I was not given the pleasure of days off as my horses could not be worked in the school.

Due to the high and current percentage of rubber in Promix, my school did not freeze and could even be used when under snow. We had people coming from all directions to borrow my school when everybody else was rushing off to indoor schools! In dry weather it again copes well, it can become slightly dusty, which is of no problem to me, but never gets deep and unstable which so many surfaces can get especially when jumping consistently.

It is an easy surface to maintain and my school would only get harrowed once a week along with an occasional session of dragging the sides in by hand. The endurance of the surface is also impressive and my last School only needed a top up after eight years.

I can only recommend the Promix surface extremely highly and along with that, Belvoir (UK) as a company were a pleasure to work with. In my opinion there is no other compatible surface currently on the market which also proves itself as a great value for money. Even if I had won the lottery I would not change my choice of surface and move to a waxed surface instead.
